Job Description :
Associate Test Engineer will be an integral member of the team that builds NCR’s award-winning products and services. Involvement of the Associate Test Engineer will span the development life-cycle, including planning, designing, development and maintenance. We are looking for a Test Engineer who has strong computer science fundamentals to join our elite team of product testing professionals.
We are looking for an innovative candidate who will provide testing support to different aspects of the software development lifecycle:
• Software Design and specification – Prepare test strategy and design test cases
• Test Management: Assist project manager for preparing test plan and effort estimation presentjobs.com
• Unit Testing – establish unit test readiness position
• Testing – Rigorous testing to ensure that product meets the business requirements.
• Participating in code and document reviews.
• Report and track Defects for resolution
Responsibilities :
The Associate Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring that solutions meet business needs by:
• Auditing/Supporting the early stages of the development lifecycle until Unit/Component Test Complete.
• Support developing and executing an effective integration test plan, including supporting documentation.
• Create the software integration test specifications
• Prepare Test Logs, maintain Test Results.
• Identifying, characterising and reporting defects found during testing
• Reviewing technical documentation (e.g. information products and customer training) as required.
• Working with the development teams and other test engineers to encourage the use of best practice test tools and techniques throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Building and developing knowledge of available test practices and tools
• Develop and maintain product knowledge
• Continuously identifying lessons learned and opportunities for improvement during the course of the project and providing feedback to the project team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
• 0 – 2 years experience in Software Testing
• BS and/or MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficient in the Software Development Process, software testing life cycle and software configuration management as they relate to the process.
• Can work with minimal guidance and show initiative.
• Work on projects of medium to high complexity, and exercise judgment within defined procedures & practices to determine appropriate action
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Good resource and time management skills to successfully work on and drive multiple tasks at one time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Preference would be given to candidates with:
- prior experience with testing ATM software
- product development lifecycle exposure
