QA Engineer
Job Description :
Automation Specific:/Functional Automation Testing
- Preparation and execution of detailed automated test plans and scripts.
- Ensuring team-wide effective and efficient automated test script creation and maintenance.
- Experience working with Java, JSP, UNIX networking, relational databases, and other web technologies.
- Scripting experience in VB, VB Script, or similar object oriented languages is desirable.
- Specific scripting experience and skills desired, Data driven scripting and verification methods
- Parameterization / Output values, Test Object Model/Object Repository, Regular expressions
- Custom checkpoints and synchronization methods, Modular Test Tree
Desired Profile :
- Experience in the creation and documentation of performance test plans and test cases
- Knowledge in creating and implementing various types of performance tests including Load, Stress and Scalability testing for web and client-server environments
- Knowledge of web architecture and networking
- Knowledge and experience in relational databases & writing SQL statements
- Experience in load testing of databases such as Oracle, DB2
- Experience with performance test tools such as Rational Robot
- Analysis and debugging skills required to create detailed Performance Assessment documents
- Verbal and written skills for clearly communicating results to management
Education:
- 4-year Technical Degree Preferred.
- Testing Certification a plus
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- 6 months -2 years of experience in developing tests and test data for software systems.
- 6 months -2 years of experience in test execution.
- Experience working with internal and external customers regarding information gathering and problem identification.
Required Skills:
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Must have a basic understanding of Software Development, and Testing Methodologies, and a basic understanding of the Systems Development life Cycle.
- Must have the ability to develop Test Cases from functional requirements, and/or Use Cases
- Good analytical skills, attention to detail and consistent follow-through to assure problems are resolved.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate multiple levels of people (i.e. Developers, Project Managers, and Business Analysts.)
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good listening skills; problem solving and the ability to multi-task between projects
- Ability to demonstrate initiative for identifying problems.
